Manager – Outsourced Accounting Services

We are recruiting for an experienced, forward-thinking candidate for our open Manager – Outsourced Accounting Services position.

The manager will be responsible for leading our Outsourced Accounting and Fraternity & Sorority teams, assessing staffing and workloads, prioritizing department tasks and projects while fostering a professional team approach to client service.

The candidate will also be responsible for sourcing data into Quickbooks, generating financial statements, preparing payroll returns and sales tax filings along with handling bank reconciliations. They will manage designated client relationships, including responding to client correspondence in a professional and timely manner, meeting with clients to review budgets, and other client service tasks. Previous experience in client relationship management is a plus.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Provide leadership and guidance to Outsourced Accounting and Fraternity & Sorority teams
  • Provide training to staff as needed and conduct annual performance evaluations
  • Assist with the long-term planning for the department
  • Assist with the recruiting and retention of staff
  • Prepare weekly and quarterly payroll along with annual payroll tax filings
  • Assist with the accounts receivable (A/R) process when needed (collection, deposits, billings, monthly cash receipt journals)
  • Manage relationship with assigned clients (nature and level of bookkeeping services differs by client)
  • Meet with clients to review invoices for payment and current finances
  • Monitor and advise clients on their financial status
  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly
  • Maintain positive client relationships and work with the department to support new client development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, business, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • 5+ years experience in bookkeeping/accounting
  • Supervisory experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements and trial balances
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated history of reliability and ability to maintain client confidentiality

Experienced Bookkeeper

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated client service bookkeeper. Responsibilities include bookkeeping services for clients, which include but are not limited to: payroll, A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, sales tax returns, budgeting, and preparation of Form 1099. The bookkeeper will be able to enter source data into QuickBooks, generate financial statements, maintain client contact, and participate in new client development.

The right candidate will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well as a team and independently
  • Demonstrated history of reliability
